We'll assemble dog shelters

The shelter for abandoned dogs near Haniska, which is managed by the non-profit organization Union for Mutual Aid of People and Dogs (ÚVP), will not be missing among the recipients of volunteer help this year either.

For regular or first-time volunteers, the shelter offers several activities to improve the quality of care for the dogs, to facilitate the work of the staff, and to make the stay of visitors among the dogs more attractive.

Work of both men and women will be needed here. The capacity of volunteers for the USSK is 30 employees and their relatives and friends, for the ÚVP 10 volunteers:

  • The help of skilled carpenters will be welcome in making two shelters that will serve the dogs in their enclosures.
  • In the area for the used straw, we will dismantle the old fence and adjust and install new 3D fence parts.
  • Men's strength will be needed to carry gravel to the enclosure and to move the dog pen.
  • New protective coatings will be applied to the metal gazebo, wooden shelters and benches.
  • We will saw wood and pallets into smaller pieces and store them in the firewood shelter.
  • We will also help with gardening, mowing and raking the grass around the stream and in the rest area.

If you have a volunteer spirit and would like to lend a hand in a common cause, come help on Saturday, May 24th at the Union of Mutual Aid of People and Dogs.

We will make a more beautiful temporary home for dozens of different dogs at the shelter near Haniska.

Registration will start soon, in mid-April.
