The Easter holidays are approaching and we are reopening the Donate Lunch project. Starting today, you can donate part of your meal credits. All you have to do is send an e-mail with the consent to withdraw credits from your meal card worth one, two... ten lunches – it's up to you what amount of credit you choose.  The price for chilled food is €4.80. You need to provide your name, ID card number, as well as the number of lunches you want to donate. Send an email with these details to: garancne.centrum.1860@delirest.sk no later than March 25, 2026.

Your lunches will help people who do not have their own home and have found temporary refuge in the non-profit organization Oasis – Hope for a New Life. Currently, about 300 people live there, including mothers with children.

"There are 15 families living in our premises on the meadow. Another 18 live in the city, in rental apartments. We help them with legal issues, health care, we make sure that children go to school properly. We also contribute 300 Euros to their rent, they have to pay the rest of the rent, which means that they have to work. They can stay in the project for 3 years. After those three years, they should be completely independent and able to take care of themselves even without our help. The lunches you donate to us will certainly help them too," said Peter Gombita, director of the non-profit organization Oasis – Hope for a New Life, adding: "Even our clients who live in Bernátovce are encouraged to "earn their own bread" – they grow vegetables, raise cattle, take care of order and also each other. Despite our efforts to be independent, we are still dependent on financial contributions and assistance."

Last year, we helped the facilities of the Archdiocesan Caritas Košice with lunches. Before Easter and before Christmas, about 300 employees participated in the collection, donating almost 1,600 lunches. Since the beginning of the project, since 2021, more than 2,800 employees have donated a total of 23,551 lunches.
