Today, we delivered half of the 908 lunches you donated. We went to two addresses of the Archdiocesan Caritas Košice. The first was the Crisis Center for Mothers with Children in Košická Nová Ves.
Katarína Fečová
is the new head of this facility: "This project is new to me, I have been here for a short time, but I am very much looking forward to it. Lunches will help mothers with children a lot. Every single hot lunch is a help for them. Mothers cook for themselves, they have a kitchenette at their disposal. It happens that they have a difficult month and their money doesn't work out, then we can only help them with non-perishable food."
Kamil Kollarčík and his colleagues Vladimír Balog and Miroslav Angelovič brought lunches from Delirest. What good did they cook? Miroslav Angelovič says: "Today we brought chicken slices with tomato and zucchini sauce, natural minced cutlets with boiled potatoes and meatless food - fried soy slices with potatoes. On Thursday, when we bring the second half of lunch, it will be pork ragout with potatoes, chicken slice with rice and meatless food - sweet dumplings. "
"We are very happy to participate in this project of U. S. Steel Košice, which helps people who need it. We will add our hand to the work not only by cooking and delivering lunches. When we come on Thursday, we will definitely bring sweets to the children again," said Vladimír Balog.
They were also eagerly waiting for us at the second address, which is the Charity House of St. Elizabeth on Bosákova Street. It provides a roof over the heads of homeless people. They know our project, we have already been here with lunches several times.
Silvia Hrabčáková from the Archdiocesan Caritas says: "In this festive season, every gift is a multiple joy for our clients, which will make their difficult life situation easier. Since they have a hot meal thanks to you, they can save a little and use the money saved to please their loved ones and buy them, for example, a small gift under the Christmas tree."
We will deliver the second batch of lunches on Thursday. Clients of both facilities will receive a total of four hot lunches, which is a really significant help. From both cities, they send a big thank you to those who shared their lunches.
