In December last year, the winners of our Christmas competition received not only generous prizes from Tauris, but also an invitation to visit the plant in Rimavská Sobota.
We went to visit yesterday, together with four winners: Anna Gyorgyfiová, Matúš Gajdoš, Ján Diňo and Jozef Hamrák.
Tauris has 1,600 employees, with almost 900 of them working in Rimavská Sobota. A specialty in this plant is also the processing of game, which comes from all over Slovakia. 80-86 tons of meat – pork, beef and game – are processed here daily.
Our expectations were high, but reality was able to exceed them. In the plant, we saw the whole process: how meat is "cut", divided, packaged, or moved for further processing into salami, sausages, sausages or pâtés. An almost two-hour tour in mostly very cold areas (4 degrees Celsius), supplemented by a detailed explanation, caught the attention of all of us.
Our great host was Ivan Treľo, Director of Human Resources and Member of the Board of Directors of TAURIS, a.s., who also answered many of our curious questions. Since the portfolio of Tauris a.s. products is very large, we wanted to know which ones are the most popular among Slovaks: "The big fan club has a line of Zipser products: sausages, ham, royal flank, certainly Nitran, Mediterranean and deer Fuet salamis. Here in Rimavská Sobota, as you had the opportunity to see, we have our own cutting plant, so the uniqueness of, for example, Zipser sausages and hams is also in the fact that they contain only fresh meat. A novelty in Rimavská Sobota's offer is that we managed to break through with mouflon, deer and fallow deer pâtés, and last year we received the Golden Sickle award for the Fuet deer sausage at Agrokomplex Nitra. We are very happy that Slovaks are gradually coming to like venison, which is very healthy. This year, we received an award for our delicious pastrami and for a novelty among mayonnaise salads with roasted onions at the Danubius Gastro international gastronomy fair, which took place in January."
Tauris is not one of the cheapest manufacturers, but their products contain quality meat. "What our customers eat, we and our family members eat. We want everyone to have the highest quality on their plate," says Ivan Treľo.
How did our winners like the visit and what interested them the most:
Matúš Gajdoš
I really liked the cleanliness that is everywhere in the establishments. Really, hats off. I was interested in the production of sausages, as I myself make sausages, ham, and smoking....
Ján Diňa:
I was also very interested in the cleanliness. I am a regular consumer of Tauris products. We have already been to a store that was recently opened in the Nad Jazerom housing estate and we made a good purchase.
Jozef Hamrák:
Overall, I was interested in the environment of the food company that I visited for the first time. I was interested in the progress of the work. I have a very good impression of this visit. I have heard from many people that if I go to a food company, I will never buy their products in my life. In this case, this is really not true.
Anna Gyorgyfiová:
We had the opportunity to see how what we consume is prepared, how it is prepared, what process it goes through. I was interested in beef and pork cutting, we did not see the cutting of game, because it was finished before our arrival. And I had no idea how many and how many types of sausages are produced in Tauris.
Regarding the statements of our winners regarding cleanliness and hygiene, Ivan Treľo responded: "We have nothing to hide, the hygiene inspection has an entry card that allows it to come at any time unannounced and check everything it is interested in."
Tasty and fresh meat and various meat products from TAURIS can be found in the network of more than 100 TAURIS Butchery u Býka brand stores in Slovakia and Prague, as well as in various retail chains throughout Slovakia, but also in Hungary and other countries.
When we said goodbye to our host after an excellent and several-course lunch, we promised ourselves that this joint activity was certainly not the last and we are already looking forward to further forms of cooperation.
And our winners agreed that they had no idea how cool the prizes in the competitions we bring to the X App could be and that from now on they will participate in every single one.
