On Thursday, February 13, the Košice Philharmonic Orchestra took care of a great musical experience. At the concert called Divine Poem, conducted by Zbyněk Müller, two unique works were performed. In the Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 2 by Ernő Dohnányi, the audience was captivated by the performance of pianist Ladislav Fančovič.  The State Philharmonic Košice with Ladislav Fančovič and Zbyněk Müller recorded both of Dohnányi's piano concertos on CD, for which they received the Radio Head Awards in 2023.

The audience also rewarded the second part of the concert with a long-lasting applause, in which  Alexander Scriabin's 3rd Symphony  with the subtitle Divine Poem performed by more than 80 musicians was performed.

Steelmakers were also present at this concert. The invitation of CEO Lucie Potokárová was accepted by Vice President Elena Petrášková and 40 other colleagues, who received two tickets each.

The performance in the first part made a pleasant impression on me and I enjoyed the solo performance of the pianist Ladislav Fančovič and his virtuoso playing, despite the impoverished instrumental line-up and the opportunity to see (at least from a distance) Ladislav Fančovič on the fingering.  Of course, as at every event, the numerous musical ensemble enriched with 2 playing harps and timpani, did not disappoint in the second half of the concert and performed the Symphony No. 3 in C minor, op. 43 "Le Divin Poème" under the baton of the dynamic Zbyněk Miller in full range, speed and dynamics. For me and my wife, it was the first cultural event this year and at the same time, after a long break, also in the State Philharmonic Košice. Overall, I rate the concert as very successful and I am glad that I could enjoy it.

I go to the Philharmonic quite often. Yesterday's concert was excellent, dynamic and encouraging passages alternated with calm and quieter ones. Both works by both authors fit together perfectly. The Philharmonic always harmonizes the program in this way.
