The steelers were thrilled by the final concert of the KHJ

The final concert of the 69th Košice Music Spring entitled REVOLUTION OF SOUND: BEETHOVEN AND SHOSTAKOVICH, which took place last Thursday, put a great end to an amazing international music festival. As the organizers promised – it really brought very strong musical experiences, especially Beethoven's Imperial Concerto for Piano and Orchestra with the fantastic pianist Frank Dupree.

The concert was also attended by colleagues from U. S. Steel Košice, to whom the General Director of the State Philharmonic Košice, Lucia Potokárová, donated 60 tickets. The Košice Philharmonic Orchestra and great foreign guests were also applauded by the wife of the deputy president, Allison Revello.

Our company was the general partner of this event.

And we have no choice but to look forward to the exceptional musical moments that the jubilee, 70th year of the Košice Music Spring will bring to Košice next year.

How did our colleagues evaluate the concert?

Kvetoslava Stančíková: "On Thursday, I had the opportunity to participate in the final concert of the Košice Music Spring festival and I have to say that it was a truly exceptional experience. I was most interested in the first part of the program, in which the pianist performed. His playing was incredibly felt and technically brilliant... Each tone had its place and at the same time a deep emotion emanated from the music. I had chills during his performance – it was very moving. The music completely absorbed me and for a moment I forgot about everything around me. The overall atmosphere of the concert was solemn and dignified, the audience appreciated the performances of the musicians with great applause. I left with a beautiful feeling and a strong cultural experience that I will remember for a long time."

Katarína Dittelová: "I prefer and like rock music. It was the first time I attended a performance of this kind. We watched Andrea Rieu's concerts on TV more often and we were intrigued. So we welcomed the opportunity to listen to such a concert live in beautiful spaces.  The concert was indescribable, I am looking forward to other similar events."

Marcela Mitrová: "I used to regularly attend concerts in the State Philharmonic, but on Thursday I was there after quite a long time. So there was all the more magic in it. The final concert was fabulous."

Michal Bigaň: "My 16-year-old daughter Nella was also at the concert. She especially liked the first part because it was more dynamic. Her impression of the concert: The dramatic tones of Beethoven intertwined with the emotional notes of Shostakovich left us speechless. The brilliant atmosphere drew us into this mysterious period from the very beginning. The spectacular moments were literally breathtaking."

Miroslav Krištofik: "The first part was a demonstration of the artistry of the orchestra, the pianist and their boss – the conductor. The piano duel between the conductor and the pianist was also interesting. It was pleasant to spend the evening in this atmosphere, I also managed to meet my former colleagues from USSK and have a pleasant conversation. My daughter and I definitely enjoyed the concert and thank you."

Dana Molčanová: "The first part was amazing and so was the atmosphere. Very good energy.  Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this event."

Miriam Obušeková, is also the author of the cover photo: "It was an incredible experience, my friend and I enjoyed it very much. The piano virtuoso was fabulous, 45 minutes of playing without notes! Admirable!  And of course, the whole symphony orchestra under the direction of the conductor was simply excellent."

Erika Linkeschová: "A beautiful concert, we enjoyed it very much."

Monika Šándorová: "It was an unforgettable experience. The first part was amazing... There is nothing to add, only to look forward to another possible participation..."

Dalibor Boldižár: "Statement of my partner Zuzana: I liked the concert very much, especially the first part. Playing the piano together between the pianist and the conductor was fabulous, it was a great artistic experience for me.  Also, the concert itself was very nice and dynamic, serious tones alternated with gentle playful melodies, which was very engaging and interesting. I had a beautiful evening, for which I thank you very much."

Miroslav Liščinský: "It was a dignified end to the KHJ.  I found the first movement so classical, melodic, the second by Shostakovich imaginative with the possibility of excelling with various instruments, and in the meantime playing four hands on the piano was great."

Lucia Hlavnová: "I wanted to get tickets for the concert mainly because of my mother Mária Franeková (who, by the way, joined the chemical laboratory of VSŽ right after university). He often attends various cultural events, but it is the philharmonic that he goes to most often. Her impressions: The young pianist played excellently. The full hall applauded."

Zuzana Kolesárová: "The Revolution of Sound concert was fabulous. Frank Dupree's beautiful and dynamic piano performance in the first movement, as well as joint piano playing with the orchestra's conductor Patrick Hahn. At the same time, I liked the cheerful and fun musical effects in the second part of the concert. Thank you for a beautiful artistic experience."

Allison Revello: "The concert was amazing. I was particularly impressed by its first part and the brilliant performance of pianist Frank Dupree."
