For the past two years, Christmas on the X App has been associated with Tauris. They always donated very generous prizes to our Christmas competitions. And not only that. Our winners were also invited to visit their establishments. Last year we were in Ryba in Košice and this year in Tauris in Rimavská Sobota. We took away very interesting experiences from the visits, but also new knowledge about what production in the food industry looks like and how the delicacies that appear on our tables are prepared.
Yesterday, a group of nine managers from Tauris came to see us. We were very happy that it finally worked out and they returned the visit. They were accompanied on the tour by František Gregor, who tried to find some similarity between our productions right from the beginning. And he succeeded when he told our guests: "Just as your products are created by adding various spices to meat, our steel is also created by adding various alloys to it."That's probably where the similarity ends, because we can buy excellent Tauris products and take them away in shopping bags, which they can't do with our products. In addition, it is really cold at Tauris workplaces, especially in the freezers, while in our premises people are rather hot.
After completing the tour on the "hot and cold" side of the business, our guests met for lunch with Vice President Miroslav Kiraľvarga and Director for Public Affairs Ján Bača. Miroslav Kiraľvarga greatly appreciated our mutual cooperation and was pleased with the information from the CEO of Tauris a.s. Richard Duda, that they have already started the production of cans, so far into glass, which they would like to replace with our packaging sheets in the foreseeable future.
The guests from Tauris were very interested in the tour. Many of them were pleased to see a large, blue building along the road with the inscription Quality Steel – Safe Driving, which they had already driven around many times, but they could not even imagine what is produced in it and what it looks like inside.
And what was extremely interesting for us? Several managers from Tauris have worked in the ironworks in the past or were otherwise connected to our company.
Richard Duda, CEO of Tauris a.s.:
I started with maintenance, specifically diagnostics, I started in 1988. Several memories came back to me, but especially one, from many years ago – how I met my wife Alice. We met on the tram on the way to the ironworks. I started at Luník VII and Alenka at Ferrocentre. I have very fond memories of those tram journeys, how we got to know each other, and then a few years later, started a family.
Blanka Takáčová, Distribution Warehouse Manager, Košice:
I also worked in ironworks. Specifically, 21 years. I started on the preparation of the batch in DZ Oceliaren, then in transport, trade, later in Multiserv... I liked going back in time and after a while, I remembered my youth. I also found a husband here. You can see that time has already taken its toll on the ironworks, investments are needed, fewer people work here, but everywhere was very clean, I liked it.
Ildikó Molčák, Sales Director of TAURIS GROUP:
It is a monumental undertaking. I admire every single employee who works here, because it is certainly not an easy job. Even though I didn't work here, I have relatives in my family who have worked here for many years. My mother also worked here for over 40 years and it has always been my little dream to see the production. I'm very glad that I managed to do it now.
Alexander Czakó, Logistics Director of TAURIS GROUP:
I liked the tour very much. I have always perceived ironworks only from the outside, although I have occasionally come into contact with your products, because I used to work at Feron. But to perceive the whole production process and the whole sequence and see it with your own eyes, that's something else, so much so that the fear comes from those huge colossi, the machines. Our work environment is completely different. Everything is much smaller.
Ivan Treľo, Director of Human Resources, OHS and PO TAURIS GROUP:
I was very happy with the show. I never had the opportunity to get into the plant, even though I worked here for years in the tax office. As taxpayers, we had our own agenda. I was excited about the order, the security, as well as the organization and course of the show. Sometimes I was even moved.
We thank our colleagues from Tauris a.s. for their visit and we are already looking forward to further cooperation.
