At the end of last week, the 10th year of the Summer Olympiad of Seniors of the City of Košice took place in the Sports and entertainment complex on Alejová.

Our seniors from the Autumn of Life built two five-member teams – women's and men's. It was contested in five disciplines: throwing a cricket ball at circular targets, throwing a cricket ball at a pyramid of cans, throwing a basketball at the basket, hitting a cricket ball into the goal with a floorball stick, and kicking a goal.

They have won four awards in sports competitions. They won two first places in the women's category.  In the throw of a cricket ball to the pyramid from cans, Magdaléna Grešová won and in the kick to the goal Emília Košická.

In the men's category in the discipline of hitting a cricket ball into the goal with a floorball stick, Vladimir Šandrik took second place.  The third place in the kick on goal went to Štefan Demko.

A large group of fans from the Autumn of Life came to cheer the sportsmen.

The seniors are already running the city league in the pétanque.  Today they played their fifth round against seniors from MČ Košice – South.  They won both matches. The men currently top the standings and the women's team has won two of its five matches so far.
