By the end of this year, thanks to the support of the U. S. Steel Košice Foundation and additional resources from the contributory organization K13 - Košice Cultural Centers, several changes will take place in the Steel Park.
Mirka Vargová, coordinator for the restoration of the Steel Park, talks about them:
"The exhibition will have new content within the theme of primary resources and energies. All floors of the building will be restored. Exhibits related to the concept will be preserved and, if necessary, will be refurbished or adapted to the given theme. From the exhibits, let's mention the IoT corner - a scaled-down smart home, where visitors will be able to try using a smartphone or control of a smart home how the interconnection of things helps us change the world around us - remote control, automated processes in the living ecosystem, a model of a tidal power plant or a magnetic liquid in a glass hand with a reference to its use in healthcare - moving a drug in the body using a magnet. We are also preparing a robot upgrade. The robot will be complemented by a voice, it will have a greater range of emotions and real reactions."
Projects are being worked on, ordered parts are gradually arriving and the essential phase of installation is planned for the next two months. All realizations will take place outside of opening hours, so the Steel Park will remain open to the public.
We will keep you informed about the news regularly.
The Steel Park was built as part of the Košice – European Capital of Culture project in 2013 with significant financial, organizational and technical support from U. S. Steel Košice.
