Do you have clothes at home that you no longer wear? Pieces that don't fit you or are just taking up space in your closet? Now you have a great opportunity to give them a new life. Join our collection of clothes and useful things during the Volunteer Days event and help those who need it most. Your unnecessary clothes can bring warmth, comfort and a sense of dignity to someone else.
We traditionally organize the collection of clothes and useful things in cooperation with the Archdiocesan Charity Košice, which specifically helps people in need in our region. It has 34 charity centers in eastern Slovakia. The general public can participate in the collection, not only U. S. Steel Košice employees.
You can bring clean, washed and fully functional items to two collection points over two days. Directly to the Archdiocesan Charity center, or to the headquarters of the Autumn of Life civic association, which brings together our former retired employees. They are very happy to help with the collection and sorting of items every year. Who knows, you might meet a former colleague here.
Practical clothing is required. Do not bring costumes, suits or coats!
Shoes and underwear are in short supply all year round.
You can donate:
- bed sheets, blankets, sheets, towels
- clothing: men's and women's for everyday wear - t-shirts, sweaters, sweatpants, jeans, socks, underwear, sports shoes
- necessities for children: diapers, swaddles, strollers, toys, any children's shoes and practical clothes
- hygiene supplies: toilet paper, shampoos and shower gels, feminine hygiene products, detergents, dishwashing detergents
- long shelf-life foods: rice, pasta, oil, canned food, ketchup, legumes, sugar, canned meat, jams, honey, instant soups, shelf-life milk, ...
- kitchen utensils and functional appliances
