Eight university graduates who recently joined our company met last week for teambuilding in the training premises of the Košice Football Arena. Coaches from the Education and Development department created a space for them to get to know each other and accompanied them with activities to promote cooperation and build collegial relationships that will help them throughout their careers in the company.
All addressed participants praised the teambuilding. They most appreciated the opportunity to get to know each other and exchange experiences from the first months after starting work. They highlighted the relaxed atmosphere and interesting activities that the trainers prepared for them.
Miroslav Gerba
is a graduate of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of UPJŠ, where he studied Analytical Chemistry. Even before being hired, he worked as an intern in the laboratory of the Cold Rolling Mill. He found employment at the Security and Security Unit: "I measure and evaluate the physical and chemical factors of the working environment at all USSK workplaces and prepare documents for the preparation of a risk assessment. Since physical chemistry was also one of the main subjects during my studies, I acquired the basics that helped me orient myself faster. I perceive my previous work experience at USSK positively, already during the internship I felt that I was considered a full-fledged colleague, which helped me a lot."
Alexandra Janitorová was employed in the Department of Environmental Protection, specifically in the Department of Water Protection and EMS (Environmental Management Systems). She is a graduate of the Faculty of Materials, Metallurgy and Recycling of the Technical University of Košice (TUKE), Department of Waste Processing and Recycling. We learn about her work at USSK: "My studies were focused on very similar topics that are dealt with in our company, so I am naturally interested in my work. Before joining, I worked here as an intern in the same department, so I knew what I was getting into. I am familiar with the implementation of internal audits of the environmental management and environmental protection system, work with the database of waste, groundwater and drinking water analyses within the company. In addition, I also participate in the preparation of documents and activities aimed at promoting biodiversity. I like that I visit different production facilities as part of my work."
Jaroslav Mačejovský from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of TUKE has been employed by us. He graduated in the field of Computer Support of Engineering Production and works in DZ Mechanika, in the Metallurgy operation:
"I work as a technologist and at work I deal with the tree breakdown of machines, i.e. what parts, subsystems and components the machine consists of, and also the overall database of machines in the SAP SW. I can use the knowledge from my studies in my work, but it is mostly a new area for me, so I am constantly trying to improve in it. Prior to joining my current position, I worked in the company as an IT intern in network administration and support. The experience from the internship certainly helped me to understand the functioning of the company, for which I owe a lot of thanks to the regular employees who work there."
The event was also attended by other newly admitted university graduates:
Jakub Jacko, Tomáš Kučera, Barbara Gergelyová and Tomáš Jacko from the Faculty of Economics of TUKE, who worked in the departments of purchasing or improvement of administrative processes. Oliver Viszlay from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics of TUKE uses his knowledge in the field of computer networks in DZ Studená valcovňa.
