The Košice Music Spring is in full swing

The Košice Music Spring is in full swing. There are also steelers among the spectators. The General Director of the State Philharmonic, Lucia Potokárová, gave us 40 tickets for a unique concert of the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, which came to Košice with the ARVO PÄRT 90 program.

Two of our readers, who won tickets in the competition, watched Miro Dach's original production Memory of Jaro Filip.

The other two who participated in our mini survey will go to a concert called Brahms & Symphonic Oppenheimer this Thursday. 55 people responded to the survey.   Five of them have already been to one of the KHJ concerts, another fourteen are going to be and 35 have not been yet. We drew these two winners: Peter Protivňák and Iveta Kohútová. Peter answered in the survey that he had not been to the concerts of this year's KHJ yet and he was very pleased with the tickets. Iveta Kohútová was at the concert in St. Peter's Cathedral. You can read her observations below.

The concert of the Estonian Philharmonic Choir had a great response among the audience from U. S. Steel, several of them wrote to us and sent us photos.

Radoslav Tomčo (he is also the author of the cover photo):  "I would like to share an unforgettable experience from a concert in St. Elizabeth's Cathedral, which I attended with my wife. During the 70 minutes of the concert, we sometimes had a "chill" all over our bodies.

Iveta Kohútová: "My husband and I liked the concert of KHJ in St. Elizabeth's Cathedral very much, the enormous energy and strength we felt there is indescribable. We experienced a concert there for the first time and we had an exceptional experience. The concert was really great, thank you for being there."

Silvia Šulcová: "For me, it was an unearthly experience and a feast for all the senses.  The cathedral was excellently chosen, both because of the acoustics and because of the impressiveness of the whole space, it was beautifully unlit in purple and created a very effective backdrop for the performance of the Estonian choir. The singers were placed on the choir, so they were not visible (except for the encore when they came down) and one would think that it would be rather monotonous because of this, but the opposite was true, it was better to concentrate on the beautiful music from Arvo Part.  I hope that we will still have the opportunity to experience their singing art someday."

Ildikó Pecuchová: "The concert of the KHJ in the performance of the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir in the Cathedral of St. Elizabeth of Hungary was amazing. The perfect acoustics in the Cathedral cannot even be described, we had chills on our bodies. Many thanks for the experience.

Miroslav Vankovic: "It was beautiful there, the atmosphere was magical. My wife and I had a nice evening.  Thank you for the tickets."

Zuzana Kolesárová: "The performance of the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir was fabulous and unique.  I liked the beautiful and clear voices as well as the exceptional venue of the concert, St. Peter's Cathedral. Elizabeth, which enhanced its meditative atmosphere.  Thank you very much."

Erika Linkeschová: "The concert was breathtaking, beautiful atmosphere, beautiful singing."
