The ten winners of our competition, who dusted off their albums and sent us historical photos with stories, are already receiving their prizes - gift vouchers worth €50, which they will be able to use, for example, to print a photo book or other gift items with their own photos.
The first to receive the awards were Marek Dzubák and Rastislav Dura (in the photo with the Director for External Relations Ján Bača).
Both were happy with the win. Rastislav Dura sent photos from the album of his father, who worked in the ironworks for 39 years, almost all the time as a metalworker on OD6. "Since the photo came from my father's album, I will use the prize for a gift - a photo book for him. It will be from my daughter's wedding, which took place last year," said Rastislav Dura, who works as the head of the Metallurgy operation at DZ Mechanika.
He does not yet know what the next winner, Marek Dzubák, an environmental monitoring specialist from the GM Environmental Department, will choose. Either it will be a large-sized, decorative photograph, or also a photo book. Marek Dzubák sent us photos of his colleague from the immission-emission monitoring car from 1997 and, for comparison, from the present.
Our seniors – Betka Tiszová and Anna Havierová – were also happy about the win. Betka has no idea what she will use the voucher worth 50 euros for. Anna Havierová is clear about this: "I buy toner for the printer, which I have at home, but I print all the club's documents on it. At least I won't burden the budget of the Autumn of Life, because toner costs 56 euros."
Betka sent us an artistic photo for the competition, which was taken by her colleague Peter Purtz at the pipes from the ironworks, and Hanka sent us a photo from the steelmakers' shaft from 1978.
