We help children and seniors

The time has come when we can decide to which eligible entity we will donate our 2 or 3 percent of the paid tax on last year's income. Which one will it be?

We talk about the focus of the activities of the U. S. Steel Košice Foundation and its assistance in the implementation of specific public benefit activities with its administrator Slávka Tvrdoňová.

  • Is the mission of the U. S. Steel Foundation maintained twenty-two years after its founding?
Remains. Since its establishment in 2002, the U. S. Steel Košice Foundation has supported hundreds and hundreds of public benefit activities and projects in various spheres of society's life. These include health protection and promotion, promotion and development of physical culture and sports, provision of social and humanitarian aid, preservation of cultural values, support of education and education, protection of human rights, protection and creation of the environment and preservation of natural values, science and research, organization and mediation of voluntary activities, but also support of retirees – former employees of U. S. Steel Košice.
  • Projects that have benefited many people include those that the foundation has helped implement in the field of health protection and promotion. Which one was it last year specifically?
Last year, thanks to the donation of our foundation in the amount of 265 thousand euros, the Children's University Hospital in Košice was able to procure several modern medical devices and equipment for its two departments. I will mention a relaxometer, EEG cerebral function monitor, hypothermia, X-ray machine, hearing screener, X-ray bedspreads, tympanometer, laminar cyto box, ENT examination unit, microscope, hearing examination device, but also others. All of them helped to speed up and improve the treatment of children. At the L. Pasteur University Hospital in Košice, they used a financial donation of 200 thousand euros to buy medical equipment. Two USG devices with accessories were acquired by the gynaecological and obstetric department, an electrosurgical unit and a camera assembly by the urology department, a tonometer with a pachymeter by an eye clinic and a new microscope was added to the Clinic of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery. We also helped the Highly Specialized Institute of Geriatrics of St. Paul. St. Luke's Church in Košice, which provides comprehensive multidisciplinary health and social care to sick seniors, long-term ill and dying patients. Here they used the donated 200,000 euros to buy electric adjustable beds, bedside tables, physiotherapy devices and a wireless patient-nurse recall system.
  • The U. S. Steel Košice Foundation is a non-profit organization. She can help and continue her efforts thanks to work-active people who decide to remit their 2 or three percent (volunteers) of the income tax paid last year. How does he plan to deal with the funds he receives from them in his account?
The aim of the foundation is to use funds from two percent in a transparent way to support projects in the field of health, education, culture, sports, humanity, protection of human rights and creation and protection of the environment. Together we can do more.
