Our Japanese colleague Keiichi Sugiyama, Director of Operational Improvement Strategy for the Hot and Cold Rolling Mill, also invites you all to the sports games in a short video. He is a passionate runner, he will compete in the 10 km run at the Sports Games.
Keiichi Sugiyama arrived to Košice in May from the Japanese city of Nagoya with a population of 2.3 million. He has always been close to sports, playing baseball during his university studies. He likes skiing and has already tried cross-country skiing.
While in Japan he usually trained only on weekends, in Slovakia he runs shorter distances every evening thanks to the long summer days. How does he like Košice?
"Life in Košice is pleasant, the people here are very nice and cordial. I like Slovak, but also Italian cuisine. My favorite dish is mushroom sauce with meat, especially roast pork. And even though it's not food, I love beer after a run. I like Šariš. My motto is: No beer, no running."
In October, we will see him on the course of the International Peace Marathon in the streets of Košice - on Saturday he will run the NIPPON STEEL Family Run mini-marathon and on Sunday the royal discipline - the marathon.
