On September 11, 2026, Natasa Gregova was at the ceremony in the Church of St. Catherine in Banská Štiavnica, she was awarded the highest departmental award For Work Loyalty.
She has been working in the Kosice ironworks since August 1984 in various positions, in the warehouse of the Road Transport. She started as a warehouse attendant, then a warehouse manager, later worked as a forewoman and currently as a warehouse forewoman for MTS for Road Transport. She is responsible for the overall operation of road transport warehouses and workers.
"We have a wide range of spare parts for various trucks, fuels, oils, operating fluids and other chemical substances in our warehouses. They need to be ordered, received, stored, issued and the whole agenda around it, such as monthly closings, annual inventories, and the like. A separate chapter is ensuring the operation of the PHL gas station, various inspections and revisions related to this," s he says, adding: "So I also work behind the computer, but also physically, in warehouses and at the fuel station."
Everything has to fit, down to the last screw
Natasa Gregova likes her work. She considers the most difficult time demands, when several things have to be solved at once. She considers working with people to be the most beautiful, because she is happy when she can help them. Of course, there were also moments when she would have liked to "quit" with all this. They occurred especially when it was necessary to manage work for long-term ill colleagues. Or when you need to get some material that they can't specify exactly... But - everything is possible, only 8 hours is sometimes not enough. A very unpleasant situation occurs when a gas station has an outage, which should work 24 hours a day, because cars go to refuel continuously.
An important part of her work is material responsibility. During the inventory, everything has to fit, down to the last screw: "So it's completely normal that even when I'm on vacation, I have my mobile phone close to me. Since we moved to SAP, people have been calling me even if they need help, advice.... In the past, it was worse, back then I brought my work home, as we did everything by hand. At that time, I also heard a few times from my husband that one day he would throw all those papers out the window ."
Her colleagues wish her the award, her family is happy
Her colleagues are happy about the award she received: "Everyone around me wishes me well, my family is happy too, I am honored."
She also helps others as a union official
Natasa works in a good team. She also tries to help her colleagues within OZ KOVO, where she has been an official in the audit commission for a long time.
She gives joy to others through the Joy Club (Klub Radosť), which operates in the village of Bukovec: "We organize welcoming children into life, meetings with seniors, we take care of flowers and rocks in the village. We also participate in various events such as Karicka in the city, we sing and go to perform with the women from the club in the surrounding villages."
She is not far from retirement. She would like to use the time she has left until she leaves to teach her colleagues as much as possible about her work. And then she plans to devote herself fully to her hobbies. In the first place, the grandchildren. She likes to go with them on various trips, to the ZOO, to the Botanical Garden... She will also devote more time to the garden and his raised fields and then, of course, to activities in the Joy Club.
This year, Natasa Gregova was the only woman among our nine employees awarded the highest departmental award.
