On Wednesday, a pipeline was damaged near blast furnace No. 3, causing blast furnace gas to leak. Approximately 12 hectares of the surrounding area were affected.

Fortunately, it was just a simulation and exercise to test the readiness of the firefighters.

Twenty firefighters participated in the cooperative exercise in cooperation with the Košice Fire Brigade. They created a base and a triage workplace at VP3 and gradually transported there 2 "dead", 4 severely and 2 easily poisoned and mobile employees / figureheads.  During the intervention, they also tested a drone brought by fellow firefighters from Košice.

How did the exercise turn out?

"There were about two or three shortcomings. However, this is what exercises are about, their task is to reveal shortcomings and reserves so that we can "work on them". I can definitely say that the exercise was successful," said Benjamín Brandis, commander of the Factory Fire Department.
